Description
“Low back pain” and “training the core” are examples of non-specific terms that continually confuse trainers. This course will help a trainer replace these terms with a system that allows for greater specificity and greater ability to improve a client’s conditioning. The system begins with understanding the musculoskeletal components of spine flexion, extension, and pelvic tilting. After explaining these topics, the system for developing assessment techniques to improve a client’s back health is introduced and taught. The course also details how to optimize abdominal exercises.
Course Objectives
A student will be able to assess spine characteristics to identify ‘normal’ or common pathologies.
A student will be able to identify RED FLAGS requiring specialist care or specific training techniques.
A student will be able to utilize gym equipment, verbal cues, specific exercises, and other variables to prescribe optimal abdominal exercises.
