Description

This course is designed to provide trainers with the tools they need to critically evaluate training theory, apply properties of human tissue, and create training protocols that are suited to specific clients’ goals.  The course begins with an introduction to evidence based research and reviews tissue histology.  After this foundation is laid, “common knowledge” exercise theories are completely dissected.  This section reveals many training mis-conceptions.  The final section of the course provides trainers with the Cloud9Fitness “Exercise Portfolio” insert.  This is an insert with more than 40 pages of training protocols that allow trainers to create routines that are tailored to their clients’ needs and desires.

Course Objectives

A student will be able to review and rate exercise literature.

A student will be able to communicate proficiently with physical therapists and physicians.

A student will be able to describe how histological findings affect the possible results from training (i.e. muscle isoform properties and motor unit recruitment).

A student will be able to debate the pros and cons of stretching protocols, plyometric training, resistance training, and varying rates of contraction.

A student will be able to develop exercise routines that maximize a client’s success.

Customer Reviews

The course was great.  I have a PT student coming to the clinic in for a 12 week rotation and I plan on using the course work to help guide her time with us.

Organized and concise, I enjoyed the course.

this was awesome, a lot of information i had never covered in my exercise science BS. Really detailed, clear, lots of diagrams and illustrations. Definitely doesn't take 10 hours to complete which is REALLY nice!

This course was very easy to understand and was organized nicely. I would definitely recommend it to anyone. I like that it is self paced. I would work on a few questions at a time and then pick up where i left off when i had time. A definite plus for these courses.

I think there is a typo in question #67. Based on page 37 of the recommended reading, the question should read "...mechanically rotates the thigh at the knee." (not hte hip). Thank you. Otherwise, I thought the course was very well done.

Great Info.

Very easy to follow. Well organized.

A good, thorough review of human anatomy.
